A quick BWA round up…

Unfortunately no wind for Rhosneigr but still a great time had by all..  Carting, Board tossing and not forgetting throwing a few shapes on the dance floor! 🙂

Great battle between me and Ross for 4th and 5thscreen-capture-115

So then..   straight over to Ireland.

We had wind…   and I got a 3rd Place!!!    …not bad for a cripple! Haha..

It was also a top event.. really good atmosphere on the water, as well as off! Not exactly firing by Brandon Bay standards but that didn’t take it away from a closely fought competition.

I lost a close heat to Ross Williams in the single. (I beat him on waves but he won on jumps)

I then defended my 3rd place in the double against a charging Andy ‘Bubble’ Chambers where I got the biggest wave score of the competition (9.5.. backside 360 on my bad side.. which I was happy about)

But I couldn’t take down Phil Horrocks after I made a slight error at the start of the heat and gave him the wave of the day and he smacked the shit out of it!! Bugger!!!

…Still.. I’m going home smiling; 3rd keeps me in the fight for the overall, not bad considering I wasn’t sure if I’d be back on the water by now!

Also super happy for Justyna who managed a 3rd in the single elimination and  then upped it in the double elimination to 2nd!!!…  all in Starboard tack conditions!

Top effort..  and her write up can be found here: http://www.justynasniady.com/news/2nd-in-the-2013-bwa-tour-stop-in-ireland-.html

…and really looking forward to the next time!

It was also great to see some new faces getting involved, some popping their cherry for the first time and other coming back after a long break.

I had some great fun watching the other fleets and seeing their go for it attitudes! Nothing more motivating that seeing people push their own limits!  Just awesome…  let’s hope we can entice a few more to Tiree and make it an event to remember!

Also a special mention to Stena Line for an awesome ferry ride over..  flat as a pancake and no wind!   …also free Wifi, top food and they even had the football playing out on the big screen so I could see Arsenal make it to the champions league!!  Such a perfect way to travel in style; I wish I could get a ferry everywhere I go and ditch the van!!
